Tessellated Poncho Knit Kit

Tessellation is a tiling technique that uses geometric shapes to cover a surface. The Tessellated Poncho uses this approach to create a unique garment construction. Worked flat and modularly starting with a textured, mitered square centerpiece, picked-up stitches along edges are used to create a series of mitered squares stretching out from its two sides. Once complete and blocked, the two side panels are seamed in the back (just the one se am!). The Tessellated Poncho features full coverage of the front of the torso and upper back without any bulk around the waist to encumber movement. This pattern was designed by Rosalie's Daughter. Needle Recommendations:
US 7 (4.5 mm) with a 22–24” cable (a shorter cable or short straight needles can be used to work the small side squares if desired)

Gauge: 
5 st and 7 rows per inch (unblocked) in stockinette stitch

SIZE 1: 18” tall centerpiece; 42/50” circumference (5 rows/6 rows)
